The third Interclub challenge for 2007 was conducted at Woorabinda Lake Stirling on Sunday Oct 7. Conditions were typical Stirling - winds light and variable - temperature bracing early.
Despite the variable winds 10 races were completed 5 before lunch and 5 more after lunch. The last 5 races were handicap start and determined the day's results. The West Lakes team showed the depth of Marbleheads in their club and won the challenge.
The racing was close and furious resulting in some interesting rule interpretations. While it was a fun event, we should all try to apply the rules correctly and be prepared to listen to constructive criticism and to accept a penalty when it applies.
Thanks to Rod for his organising the event and to Ron for detailing the entrants, checking on crystals and recording the results. Thanks to all the competitors for an enjoyable day.
Breaking news!! Meadows club scoop Interclub challenge. Sure they were the only one with a full team but a win is a win is a win! Meadows club wish to thank all who attended. Despite the testing conditions - very variable winds - all seemed to enjoy the day.
